POSITION
Music Theory
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach and develop courses in music theory that serve the needs of undergraduate and graduate music majors in a variety of sub-disciplines
- Continue research/creative activity related to area of appointment
- Participate in graduate advising and academic governance in the college
- Seek and receive external grants to support research, teaching, and/or creative activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Music theorist with open research specialization
- Earned PhD in music theory
- Strong commitment to teaching with proven skills at the university level
- Scholarly achievement and promise of continuing research/creative activities in the area of appointment
- Performance background desirable
- Research/teaching interest in 20th-century music desirable
- Research/teaching interest in analysis-performance desirable
- Interest and ability to develop blended and on-line courses desirable
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across disciplines
APPOINTMENT
- Rank: Assistant Professor
- Academic year appointment will be in the tenure system
- Position is available 16 August 2010
