Summer Program Scholarships

New Directions Summer Scholars Program for Music Education Majors

Assistance is available to a select number of outstanding music teachers to pursue graduate study in music education at MSU. New Directions Summer Scholars choose from a wide variety of classes and workshops, over a three-summer period, designed to help teachers develop skills as leaders and agents of change in the music education community. Scholarships will defray tuition costs for summer enrollment. ND Summer Scholars must be in residence for the 6 week summer session for each of their 3 summers to be eligible to receive the award for that session.

Go here to apply online for admissions and scholarship consideration. Applicants seeking consideration for the New Directions Summer Scholarship will be asked to upload a 15 minute video example of their teaching to their online application.

The deadline for applications is February 15.

Choral Conducting Scholarships

Applicants who are accepted into the master’s program in choral conducting will be considered for fellowships based on the audition. For further information please contact David Rayl, director of choral programs.

The deadline for applications is December 1.
