About Choral Ensembles
Our desire at MSU is to provide you with the opportunity to continue in
this enriching experience that complements your education, no matter what
your major area of study may be. All of our Choral Ensembles are open
to all academic majors.
Michigan State University has one of the largest choral programs in
the Big Ten. The size and popularity of our choral program simply reflects
the exceptional character and ability of our University's student body,
and means that our singers are able to be a part of music making at the
highest level.
If you have a musical background, such as high school singing, or vocal
or instrumental experience, we may have a place for you in one of our
seven choirs. You will have fun, meet people from virtually every major
academic discipline, continue your vocal development and build lasting
friendships and memories. And you will share the joy of singing in MSU's
superb Wharton Center for Performing Arts.

Auditions
Auditions are required for the University Chorale, State Singers, and Choral Union. The Glee Clubs and Collegiate Choir do not require an audition; you may simply register for the classes. Auditions are held each fall and spring prior to the beginning of the semester. Students are placed in the ensemble most appropriate and beneficial to the vocal and musical needs of the singer.
