A Night in Vienna

MSU voice faculty, assisted by a chorus of students from MSU Opera Theatre, present an evening of vocal works from and about Vienna—the fabled city of music.

The city of Vienna has a deep history of music making. Often referred to as the world’s musical capital, Vienna has always been a center of cultural development in Europe. The city was a destination for many famous composers including Mozart, Johann Strauss and Schubert, all of whom will be featured during the concert. Accompanied by piano, works will include selections from Die Fledermaus, Cosî fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Merry Widow, Die Tote Stadt, and The Chocolate Soldier as well as art songs and popular ballads like "By Strauss" by Gershwin.

$20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens (age 60 and older), $10 for students with ID or anyone under age 18. Tickets available online, at the door, or at 517.353.5340.
