“Surface Tension:” in conjunction with MSU’s thematic year, “Water Moves MSU,” Musique 21 presents a musical exploration of humankind’s often-complicated relationship with water. This concert features the music of MSU composition professors Alexis Bacon, David Biedenbender, Lyn Goeringer, and Zhou Tian as well as music by Steven Mackey and Gonzalo Garrido-Lecca.
“Water Moves MSU” aims to create dynamic programming through events, encourage discussion and debate and build new bridges at the intersection of topics such as health, policy, culture, artistic expression and community. The goals of this movement are to inform and educate, celebrate artistic expression through water, and to encourage a deeper respect for this valuable resource. Previous events have included a show at the Abrams Planetarium, photo exhibitions at the Broad Art Museum and a new project led by the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. All projects and events are in partnership with MSU’s Cultural Engagement Council.
This is a free event.
