Latin IS America: Tejano Dinner and Dance Party

Midwest-based group, Motivo performs a variety of Latino-based music including: Tejano, Norteño, Cumbias and Rancheras. Complementary buffet-style dinner and pre-concert lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. concert with dancing begins at 8:00 p.m.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
The Latin IS America event series is supported through a grant from the MSU Office for inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives and coordinated by the MSU College of Music.
Led by Rolando Revilla Jr., Motivo’s collection of band members are based out of Toledo, Ohio. The group primarily performs Tejano music (Tex-Mex) a Mexican-American music genre originating from South-Texas with the influences from German folk, Ranchera, Mariachi, and Conjunto music. The band’s most recent album is titled "Nacimiento Motivado," released digitally in 2017. You can follow the group on Facebook, or learn more at the Revilla Music website.
