Tiffany Engle, DMA candidate in wind conducting, has been appointed as assistant professor and Director of Bands at Calvin College.
Jed Koops and Janice Waldron, a doctorial music composition student and doctorial music education student respectively, won a $3,000 Special College Research Abroad Money fellowship in a competition held by the College of Arts & Letters.
Melissa Williams, undergraduate student in saxophone performance, won the State of Michigan MTNA Performance Competition. Melissa will compete on the division level in Madison, Wisconsin on January, 14, 2005.
Kent Eshelman, DMA student in tuba performance, was named the winner of the Midland-Odessa Symphony 2005 National Young Artist Competition, in the Wind/Brass/Percussion division. The competition was held in Midland, Texas on January 7-8, 2005, and was open to any performer under the age of 28. Kent performed the "Concertino for Tuba and Strings" by Jan Koetsier. As the winner of this competition, he was awarded a cash prize of $2,000.
