Meet the Running Start Interns
Emily Henley is currently an undergraduate student working towards her Bachelor’s in Music Performance with the harp alongside a minor in Graphic Design. She has been playing the harp since she was six years old and has studied under numerous teachers from St. Louis, Missouri to Michigan. She has played with MSU’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Opera and Musique 21 during her education at MSU. Emily has a passion for planning, organizing, and advertising events, and also works as one of the Event Managers for the College of Music.
Emily Roberts is a current undergraduate student pursuing her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education and studies clarinet with Dr. Guy Yehuda. Emily performs with the MSU Symphony Band, Spartan Marching Band, Concert Orchestra, and Venti Quartet and has also appeared at such venues as the Kennedy Center and the National Mall. In the summer of 2017 Emily participated in the Festa della Musica Todi in Todi, Italy. She has spent her summers working as a woodwind technician for local high school marching bands and as a staff member at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan. Emily manages Running Start’s social media accounts and web design and also coordinates faculty and student spotlights for the College of Music. She looks forward to using this knowledge to help further develop her own music program in a public school setting.
