Many organizations outside the College of Music are also committed to helping students turn their ideas into enterprises. Here are some great MSU and community resources to explore.

The Hatch: Entrepreneurship resources for MSU students. Pitch your business idea, secure funding, and develop your product with a collaborative community. Also check out the parent organization, MSU Innovation Center.

MSU - Students Making A Difference through Artistic Expression: The Excellence in Diversity Awards, Students Making A Difference through Artistic Expression, contest focuses on cultural diversity and inclusion. MSU awards $500 to winning submissions that relate to human rights, equity, cultural diversity, or social justice. A resource for social entrepreneurship projects.

University Center for Regional Economic Innovation: A research network developing innovative economic development ideas, tools, models, policies, and practices for Michigan. A resource for students interested in arts-based social entrepreneurship and research.

Arts Council of Greater Lansing: From their website: “The Arts Council actively works with its constituents and alongside area leaders to promote the value of the arts and to make the arts possible in the greater Lansing region.”
