Florestan and Eusebius, the Music of Robert Schumann

The ultimate Romantic composer, Schumann creatively named the two sides to his personality. Impetuos Florestan and sensitive Eusebius became key figures in Schumann’s imaginary “Davidsbünd,” a Band of David who stood up to the artistic Philistines of the day.
