College of Music Supplemental Application

 

NOTE:  Most of our programs are closed for applications at this time.  If your program of interest is listed below, contact the College of Music Admissions Office prior to applying.

• MM and DMA in Conducting
• MM and Graduate Certificate in Music Theory
• Master of Arts in Musicology
• MM and DMA in Composition
• PhD Music Education
• All programs that require an Admissions Audition.

 

Before continuing, please review the below list of items needed to complete the online application.

• Know the application requirements for your program.
• Please review the audition requirements. This application will ask you to register for one of our audition dates if required. Please select a date only after considering all of your other commitments; it may be difficult or impossibile to reschedule your date once it is selected.
• The names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of individuals providing letters of recommendation will be requested.  Undergraduate applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation; graduate applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendation. 
  • NOTE:  Do not request letters of recommendation on the MSU application.  Only request letters of recommednation on the Music Supplemental Application.   Letters of recommendation received on the Graduate application will not be reviewed.  If letters accidently end up on the wrong application, please contact the College of Music Admissions Office for assistance.
• You must maintain an active email account. We will communicate often through the email address you provide on this application. Please add MUSIC.admissions@msu.edu to your address book to avoid lost messages.
• If you wish to be considered for more than one program within the College of Music, you will need to submit two College of Music Supllemental Applications.
