Degree Opportunities

Master of Music in Music Education

When the National Association of Schools of Music recently reviewed the MM in Music Education program, they stated that  it is "enhanced by its strong faculty, excellent curricular design involving other disciplines within the College of Music, and a well-recognized reputation for graduate education programs at the institution overall.”

The MM in Music Education program is designed for practicing teachers and for those who have taught and wish to continue their education. The degree is flexible and can be completed in a number of ways. Our MM courses are offered both during the school year (once a week at night) and during the summer. Some students wish to remain in their jobs while pursuing advanced degrees. These students can commute to campus for one or two courses a semester and continue their work during the summers. Others wish to study full time in the summer and complete their degrees in three years. Some choose to leave their jobs and pursue study full time during the academic year. Fellowship support is available to students on a competitive basis.
