Become a Gigline Artist

COVID-19 Statement:

While we continue to welcome Gigline requests for Spartan performers, we continuously monitor directives from the State and local government to determine whether or not we can refer gigs to our musicians.  We are always able to refer requests for virtual performances. However, if a client requests an in-person performance which falls within any state directive to pause activities or limit the number of people allowed to gather safely, the request may not be fulfilled. Future date requests will be monitored and musicians will be paired with clients once it is determined such events are permissible.

What is Gigline?

Gigline is a service that connects student musicians and ensembles with individuals and organizations seeking performers for weddings, receptions, parties, and other special events. Being listed on Gigline allows student musicians to find paid opportunities to perform in the Greater Lansing community and beyond.

How do I get listed?

In order to be added as a Gigline musician you must:

  1. Fill out this form with your information.

  2. We will reach out to your major professor to get their recommendation on your behalf for joining Gigline.

  3. From there, the Gigline Coordinator will be in touch to check your MSU employment status with HR, and if you aren't already hired we will go through the hiring process.

  4. Once added, you will receive emails to your MSU student account from music.gigline@msu.edu with offers for paid opportunities. These are first-come-first-served opportunities, so a prompt response is essential in order to do these paid performances.
