Alternative spring break opportunities

MSU Alternative Spartan Breaks (ASB) is an RSO and part of the MSU Center for Community Engaged Learning. They organize weeklong and weekend community-engaged learning experiences focusing on a variety of social issues, including accessibility, immigration, affordable housing, accessibility, natural resource access, climate action, environment, and LGBT youth. ASB recently opened their winter and spring break applications.

Non-ensemble MUS Permission

For Undergraduate Students Only

If you are trying to enroll in a non-ensemble MUS course, please use this link and fill out the Non- Ensemble Permission Form. (If you previously filled out a permission form, latest group was processed on 11/28/22.)

If you are enrolled in MUS 130, 120, 126 and 127 for FALL 22, you may enroll in the same course for Spring 2023. The permission has already been granted. 

If you recently auditioned for a Band or one of your placements in the above ensembles has changed, ensemble permission forms will open once placements have been posted.
 

Free Chair Massages

The College of Music Health and Wellness Committee is sponsoring free 15 minute chair massages for students on 12/5 and 12/7. Slots are limited! To sign up, follow this link! 
 

Free Concert Opportunities

The Beauty of Brahms concert on December 5 at Fairchild Theatre, 7:00 p.m., showcases the excellence of several MSU Music artists on faculty. Music students may claim a free ticket to this concert by visiting the Main Office, 102 MB, during normal business hours.

In addition, Telling the Story: Christmas Oratorios by Bach & Saint-Saens is a special concert coming up soon that features over 200 singers and instrumentalists, and the College is making a limited number of tickets available free to Music students. On Thursday 12/1, Friday 12/2, and Monday 12/5 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only in the College main office, 102 MB, Music students may claim a free ticket to the event that takes place at Wharton on Saturday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m.
