Students of all ages, from infants to octogenarians, may enroll for classes or lessons at the MSU Community Music School. CMS offerings include private and group lessons, adult and children’s choirs, adult beginning band, early childhood music, folk music, music production and technology, music therapy, rock music, string ensemble, and Suzuki strings, piano, and flute.

CMS provides a creative and welcoming environment where music experiences, education, and therapy services inspire individuals at all ability levels and stages of life to achieve their personal best. Financial assistance is available to those with need. CMS has locations in East Lansing and Detroit and is the outreach division of the MSU College of Music.
