Dr. Lauren Eldridge Stewart analyzes classical music as heard within the Haitian summer camp system in order to better understand the function of amateur classical music study in contemporary society.

Lauren Eldridge Stewart’s research interests include the cultural uses of classical music, folklore, and material culture across the African diaspora, specifically on Haitian classical music.
