Conductor featured on Curious Crew

Michigan State University College of Music Assistant Director of Orchestras Kiki Kilburn is an award winning conductor with extensive teaching and touring background around the country. Some of her experience includes work with youth ensembles including the Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Ensemble, the Greater New Haven Youth and Chamber Orchestras, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Repertory Orchestra, and the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association’s Philharmonia. So, she was the perfect person to introduce the art and science of conducting to a young audience! Curious Crew is a program produced and aired by WKAR television in East Lansing. It features “inquisitive kids taking a fun approach to investigating principles of science, technology, engineering, and math.” Could there be future conductors studying at MSU because of Kilburn’s thoughtful introduction to the craft? Time will tell!
