In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Singing Spartans present music reflecting on how the ideals of freedom and “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” resonate across identities and in today’s world. Mosaic offers a program for soprano and alto voices centered on Isabella Leonarda’s Domine, ad adjuvandum me festina—“Lord, make haste to help me”—and explores how composers across time have used music to express urgency, hope, and resilience. Meredith Bowen and Stuart Chapman Hill, conductors.
