Concert Orchestra, “American Portraits”
Featuring Grammy Award–winning and MSU jazz vocalist Carmen Bradford, the Concert Orchestra presents American Portraits, a program celebrating the breadth of American musical expression. The concert highlights Gershwin’s An American in Paris, a landmark orchestral portrait of jazz-age vitality and spirit, along with selections from the Great American Songbook performed with Bradford, and a newly composed work by Jere Hutcheson Composition Competition winner Ethan Gurwitz. Conducted by Katherine Kilburn, Zongheng Zhang, and Junting Yi.
