Schedule

Spartan Youth Wind Symphony events are held on Sundays to avoid conflicts with high school music programs.

Rehearsals are held in the College of Music Building on West Circle Drive. Performances are held in MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts and Fairchild Theatre.

Rehearsals (2:00-5:30 p.m.)

Rehearsals will consist of both full ensemble rehearsals and small group sectionals. Masterclasses with MSU faculty will also take place during selected rehearsals.

Chamber Ensemble Program

In addition to the Wind Symphony, the extensive SYWS Chamber Music Program provides the most outstanding musicians the opportunity to perform with one of nine Honors Chamber Ensembles, including brass and woodwind quintets, saxophone and tuba/euphonium quartets, chamber wind ensemble, flute choir, clarinet choir, brass choir, and percussion ensemble. The chamber ensembles are coached by MSU College of Music graduate students and faculty and perform on a chamber recital at the end of each semester.
