Color Me Music

Alliance for Students of Color

Color Me Music first meeting of Fall 2019.

Emerging from a desire to increase cooperation and communication among the existing multicultural students and student organizations at Michigan State University, a diverse group of music students came together to form the Color Me Music: Alliance for Students of Color (CMM). CMM was established to advocate and address issues facing the students of color in the College of Music as well as other multicultural communities at Michigan State University. The mission of CMM is to support and encourage greater collaboration among music students of color while promoting scholarship and diversity education.

During the academic year, CMM meets bi-weekly on Sunday's. All students are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring friends. Food is typically provided!

Since its formation in January 2019, CMM has been directly involved with several events and initiatives including a Black History Month recital, lectures, the college's annual MLK Day concert, and more.
