Spanning the nation’s musical history, this program highlights the diversity and breadth of American music and the composers whose creativity, individuality, and enduring spirit have shaped the country’s musical landscape.

Featuring chamber music, spirituals, and art song, the program includes works by Amy Beach, Florence Price, H. T. Burleigh, and Hall Johnson, composers whose music helped define and enrich America’s cultural heritage. Featured performers include MSU artist-faculty members Yvonne Lam (violin), Suren Bagratuni (cello), Deborah Moriarty (piano), Mark Rucker (baritone), and Sadie Rucker (piano).
