Award-winning flutist Emi Ferguson joins forces with the boundary-pushing ensemble Ruckus—described as “the world’s only period-instrument rock band”—to present Fly the Coop! Bach Sonatas and Preludes, a joyous, kaleidoscopic romp through some of Bach’s most lively and transcendent works. The program features new arrangements of Bach’s Flute Sonatas and Keyboard Preludes, orchestrated for baroque flute and the forces of Ruckus that include a vibrant mix of theorbos, baroque guitars, baroque bassoon, cello, viola da gamba, harpsichord, organ, bass, and the occasional banjo. The result is a colorful and joyful reimagining of Bach that’s as playful as it is profound. Learn more about Fly the Koop, Kaleidoscopic Bach from Emi Ferguson and Ruckus.
