This annual event highlights a select group of student musicians across a range of disciplines, each featured in a public setting for highly anticipated performances. Presenting a rich variety of repertoire, participants compete for the opportunity to perform as soloists with MSU’s top ensembles. Winners will be selected by a panel of external jurors and announced immediately following the concert.

Finalists will perform with the MSU Symphony Orchestra on March 20, in the Cobb Great Hall of Wharton Center.

Judges
The distinguished panel of judges includes James Giles, piano soloist and faculty at Northwestern University; Conrad Cornelison, the principal Bassoonist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; Oriol Sans, Director of Orchestras and Professor of Conducting, UW–Madison Symphony Orchestra.
