Othnell Mangoma Moyo teaches MSU students the essentials of mbira playing in a hands-on masterclass.

Othnell Moyo also known as “Mangoma” (freely translating as “the one with the drums”) is a multi-talented, internationally touring Artist, an ethnomusicological researcher and preservation activist deeply rooted in Zimbabwean Culture, who makes 75% of the instruments he plays himself.

The mbira is a Zimbabwean percussion instrument made of metal tines attached to a wooden board.
