Music and the Garden: Go Music Trio
The MSU College of Music and Beal Botanical Garden invite you to this year’s Music and the Garden series, an outdoor celebration of music, nature, and community. This season explores Beal’s Rewilding initiative, with each event engaging one of the four classical elements—Air, Water, Fire, and Earth—highlighting Michigan native plants, their ecological roles, and connections to human history, while featuring theme‑inspired performances and opportunities to learn how environmentally sustainable practices can be incorporated into everyday life.
This program reflects the theme of Water, highlighting ideas of flow, reflection, and shared movement found in both music and the natural world.
The Go Music Trio, a collaborative ensemble of two sopranos and piano, explores music as an experience that extends beyond sound. Inspired by the natural world and the stories embedded within music, the ensemble invites audiences to enter the worlds created by music – worlds shaped by nature, imagination, poetry, and human emotion. Through the interplay of voice and piano, Go Music Trio creates immersive performances that encourage listeners not only to hear music, but also to see, feel, and inhabit it.
Ensemble members: Zimo Chen, soprano; Shuhan Zhang, soprano; Dailin Zeng, piano
