Celebrating 10 Years of Beautiful Sights and Sounds

The MSU College of Music and Beal Botanical Garden invite you to this year’s Music and the Garden series with a celebration of nature, music, and imagination. This family-friendly event explores the theme “Transforming Our World”—an invitation to see plant collections in new ways and learn how MSU’s gardens are being reimagined for the future.

The music program explores themes of change, hope, and possibility through a vibrant blend of jazz, classical, and pop. Familiar melodies are reimagined with the trio’s signature sound, offering fresh perspectives on transformation and the uplifting power of music.

Bow and Tonic is a genre-blending trio formed at MSU, uniting classical, jazz, and pop influences. Led by violinist Farangiz, with pianist Max Gage and bassist Emma Wilburn, the group brings expressive musicianship and a spirit of improvisation to every performance. Known for reshaping the chamber trio tradition, Bow and Tonic offers audiences a fresh, dynamic experience that moves fluidly between styles—at once refined, spontaneous, and unmistakably original
