The MSU Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the Choral Union, State Singers, and University Chorale to paint a vivid portrait of human emotions. The evening’s repertoire is a rich tapestry, beginning with Brahms’ Schicksalslied, a mesmerizing composition renowned for its ethereal beauty, celestial harmonies, and profound depth. Following this, Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier Suite sweeps audiences away with its blend of earthly passions, sublime melodies, and graceful waltzes, evoking the opulence and allure of Vienna’s golden era. Concluding the program is William Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, an exuberant cantata that immerses listeners into a world of eerie grandeur, sumptuous textures, and raw, emotive power. Described as a “human drama, not a religious experience,” it promises to be a captivating finale to an evening of musical enchantment. An additional work will include a Fanfare selection composed by an MSU College of Music student. Artist-faculty member Mark Rucker, baritone, is a featured soloist. Sandra Snow and Octavio Más-Arocas, conductors.

Generously sponsored by James and Susan Bonfiglio.
