Symphony Orchestra and Concert Orchestra, “Festivals of Fire and Dance”
Presenting a program of vibrant orchestral repertoire, the Symphony Orchestra and Concert Orchestra share the stage for a dynamic season finale. The Concert Orchestra performs a work by the winner of the 2026 Jere Hutcheson Composition Competition alongside Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” a cornerstone of the orchestral repertoire inspired by the composer’s time in the United States. The Symphony Orchestra follows with Respighi’s Feste Romane, a bold and colorful depiction of ancient Roman festivals, and de Falla’s Suite No. 2 from The Three-Cornered Hat, a vivid celebration of Spanish dance and rhythm. Conducted by Octavio Más-Arocas, Katherine Kilburn, Zongheng Zhang, and Junting Yi.
