A wide variety of performance opportunities await our students each year, with orchestras, bands, choirs and opera, jazz nonets and combos, small ensembles, and more.
A variety of programs and initiatives operate continuously or annually to enhance learning experiences and help students prepare for their future in music.
The MSU College of Music supports and challenges students, values innovation and creativity, and helps every community member achieve professional excellence.
Gigline is a service that connects College of Music student musicians and ensembles with individuals and organizations seeking performers for weddings, receptions, parties, and other special events. Being listed on Gigline allows student musicians to find paid opportunities to perform in the Greater Lansing community and beyond!
We are committed to providing career services and experiential learning opportunities to students that are committing themselves to the highest levels of music study. Therefore, to be eligible to participate and be listed with the MSU Classical Gigline, students must be enrolled as a music major, undergraduate or graduate level, at the MSU College of Music. Student musicians are confirmed by their major professor’s recommendation after applying.
In order to become listed on the Classical Gigline, please follow these three easy steps:
Once you are hired, you will receive emails from music.gigline@msu.edu with offers for paid opportunities! These are first-come, first-served opportunities, so a prompt response is essential.
