A wide variety of performance opportunities await our students each year, with orchestras, bands, choirs and opera, jazz nonets and combos, small ensembles, and more.
A variety of programs and initiatives operate continuously or annually to enhance learning experiences and help students prepare for their future in music.
The MSU College of Music supports and challenges students, values innovation and creativity, and helps every community member achieve professional excellence.

Several College of Music departments hire interns and part time staff, including Communications, Admissions, the Main Office, Operations (Event staff), and Running Start. Attend the fall College of Music employment fair to learn about the opportunities, and contact the specific department to submit your resume for consideration. Please note that not all departments have annual vacancies.
College of Music students and ensembles who would like to be included in Gigline need to complete an application which can be found on the Become a Gigline Artist page. The application can be submitted via this link.
a) The MSU College of Music is pleased to offer MSU Gigline, a service for individuals and organizations seeking performers for weddings, receptions, parties, and other special events, both on- and off-campus. The following list includes students, faculty, and community musicians. To make a booking, contact the performer(s) of your choice directly to discuss and negotiate availability, fees, and other details. All performers set their own rates.
b) There are two ways to select a musician through Gigline. Clients can view the online showcase of musicians and pick an entertainer to email directly. If the online showcase does not meet their needs, clients may use MSU’s MySpartanCareer job database as a job board to post a gig. Students can then easily search active postings find gigs that interest them. As the client, you will receive emails whenever a student indicates interest in your event. To access MySpartanCareer, follow the link for employers at http://careernetwork.msu.edu. Please note that opportunities should be posted 3-4 weeks ahead of time on MySpartanCareer.
