The Global Learning Expo (formerly the Education Abroad Expo) will be held on October 2, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Breslin Center.
The Expo is one of the country’s largest global learning events and allows students to explore their options by talking with program directors, representatives from partner institutions, former participants, and staff from support units all in one place.
Research demonstrates that participation in experiences such as education abroad can contribute to on-time degree completion. The wide range of program types and experiences offered at MSU can help equip you with the critical skills needed to succeed after graduation – leadership, collaboration, flexibility, empathy, respect, understanding.

Graduate students conducting research are reminded to follow the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) guidelines as part of their academic and professional responsibilities. These guidelines ensure ethical standards in the research process and cover key areas such as data management, authorship, and human subjects research.
Please review the requirements to ensure compliance with MSU policies and maintain the integrity of your research. For more details, visit the RCR page within the Student Resources section of our website or reach out to your faculty advisor for guidance.

It’s that easy! Here’s an example.
It’s time for you to schedule your student recital. Where do you start?
Alternatively, on the Student Resources page you can type “student recital” in the search bar. It will turn up any resource that has “student recital” mentioned in it, but it will also have within those results the resources that you need.
NOTE: Within Student Resources, you also have access to handy buttons that provide a quick link to the MSU Academic Calendar, a list of upcoming Student Recitals, and a link to all information in the weekly Student Bulletins.
Interested in participating in MSU on-campus Day of the Dead activities? Email Lupe Dominguez and Emily Henley to get started!
1 idea. 5 minutes. 20 slides. 15-second auto-advance. Can you do it?
The MSU Museum CoLab Studio is looking for ten passionate students at Michigan State to each give an Ignite talk on their research! You can be any type or level of student at MSU, doing a project in any field of research. Ignite talks are a creative way to communicate one big idea in 5 minutes flat, using only 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. We want speakers who will connect with the audience as they amuse, educate, enlighten, and inspire them. Previous public speaking or stage experience is not required! All selected speakers will participate in a research communication workshop prior to the big day, to help them hone their story to ignite the audience.
Check out the 8/30/24 bulletin for deadline information on Fall 2024 College of Music internships, assistant director positions at CMS-East Lansing, and the upcoming event Creating Thriving Private Studios.

If you are reading this message, then you have already discovered the new College of Music website! This student bulletin is part of a new way to organize the large amount of information available to help students find answers to questions and take advantage of opportunities provided here.
When you click on “Student Resources” at the top of the new site, you have the option to find information through a key word search of only resources (not the entire site) or to choose a category of information. The site uses a filtering system to quickly narrow your search results to get to what you need fast.
If you select a category, for example, you will see all the categories open on the left but with the category you chose appearing with all items checked. Use the buttons on the left to click on or off items to narrow your search, if necessary, then click “Apply.”
If you still cannot find what you need, send a message to Rick Seguin or Michael Sundermann in the Music Communcations office. This new site will be improving each day, so we appreciate your feedback when/if you discover something confusing or not working properly.
Have fun, and we hope the new site is helpful to you!
It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to Christine Bastian who is in her final week with the college before embarking on a new adventure with the University of Washington. For the past ten years, Christine has had a tremendous positive influence on College of Music students through the creation of Running Start, numerous entrepreneurial opportunities, and valuable resources to empower students to forge exciting careers. Her impact will be felt for years to come, so please join the deans of the college in thanking Christine and wishing her well.
We are happy to announce that taking over as Director of Career Services as of September 3 is Emily Henley. A harpist and graduate of the College of Music, Emily has been mentored well by Christine and brings an enthusiasm enjoyed by many since joining the staff. We know that Career Services programs including Running Start, EMAR, and more remain in capable hands.
