On January 24, the Running Start program presented a panel session called The Hidden Curriculum of Artist Management. Four professional artists and managers – Casey Sherwood, Tim Mar, Margherita Fava, and Brian Major – answered questions exploring the difference between managing your own career, being “managed”, or making a part- or full-time career out of managing someone else. To help those wanting to get a clear vision of how to manage themselves, when to get representation, or whether they might want to be an artist manager in the future, the panel’s answers are now collected in one simple document so everyone has access. Click here for the full Q&A. If you have additional questions, contact Emily Henley of the Running Start office to explore further.
Applications are being accepted by MSU Student Life and Engagement for more than 20 named scholarships. A total of more than $50,000 is available for undergraduate and graduate students. Application deadline is March 4. Click here for details or view the flyer for more information.
