The General Assembly is the legislative body of the Associated Students of Michigan State University which introduces, debates, and votes on legislative action to take a stance on behalf of the collective undergraduate student body. The actions and bills that are passed from the General Assembly then get passed on to University officials, community leaders, and representatives from state and Federal levels of government.
Right now, the election packets to run for a seat within the General Assembly are open for our Spring elections! During this process, candidates must write a brief bio and receive the minimum amount of signatures for their college. Election packets and all required materials are due by March 17th at 4:30 pm. The election packet can be accessed here, and if you have any questions regarding the appointment process you can contact rec@asmsu.msu.edu.

Hello Music Students,
In observance of the two-year anniversary of the tragic events that occurred on our campus, all classes will be canceled tomorrow. The University has organized several commemorative activities, which are summarized on the Spartans Together website.
University Carillonist Jon Lehrer will present a 45-minute memorial recital beginning at 1:00 p.m. Attendees are welcome to arrive and depart at their convenience. As Jon has expressed, “There is no one right way to attend, and the music is here to serve you, not the reverse.” We sincerely appreciate Jon’s contributions to this meaningful event.
Additionally, we recognize and extend our gratitude to our academic specialists and staff who continue to support students through initiatives such as this week’s lobby takeover. As a college, your success and well-being are our priorities, and we encourage you to utilize the many resources available on campus.
We are deeply grateful for the strong and supportive community that our students, faculty, staff, and patrons have built together. Please take care of yourselves and one another.
