There will be no classes held on Friday, February 13. Instead, a free event will be held in remembrance of those we lost on this day three years ago.
This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to arrive and depart at any time, creating space for quiet reflection, remembrance, and healing.
Organ Remembrance is a reflective music event honoring the lives impacted by the tragic campus shooting of 2023. Held in the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel, the event offers continuous organ music performed by MSU organ students and members of the Lansing Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Watch the creativity and entrepreneurship of your fellow MSU Music students take center stage as they present bold ideas and business ventures in a live pitch format. A panel of jurors asks questions, sparking insightful discussions and culminating in an awards presentation—with up to $3,000 in funding on the line.
The next round of free hearing testing will take place Thursday, February 19 with time slots available between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sign up now!

Write to Heal is a 5-week therapeutic writing group held Fridays from 10 – 11:30 AM during the Spring semester. It is open to all students interested in exploring their inner world through words. Each week will introduce a different theme and writing technique including journaling, poetry, expressive letter-writing, narrative storytelling, and more.
These sessions are designed to help participants process thoughts and emotions, reduce stress, and deepen self-awareness. No prior writing experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore.
All MSU students are welcome to participate based on the clinical recommendations of CAPS staff. As with all group sessions held by CAPS, a pre-group meeting is required to join. Schedule a short phone consultation with CAPS to get started.
A reminder that the university is closed and no classes will be held on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
