From medieval chant to modern cinematic horror, enjoy spooky tunes at the iconic tower as the bells resonate under the night sky.

The Michigan Sangeetha Natya Academy sponsors two concerts a year in the College of Music featuring internationally acclaimed artists from India. Admission is free to all MSU College of Music faculty and students. The Hindustani classical concert Vrindavan will take place on Sunday, November 3 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in Cook Recital Hall. Fall 2024 graduating seniors have the chance to be one of two commencement speakers for the 2024 Fall Commencement program. This can be a great way for graduates to share their MSU stories, words of wisdom for the departing class, and show why their college is such an amazing place.
The sign-up form is due Friday, October 25 at 5 PM. Students can also apply by emailing commencement@msu.edu with their most updated resume and speech. Please reach out to this year’s Senior Class Council President Benjamin Fox or Dan DiMaggio with any questions.

ASMSU will host the 2024 Board of Trustees Virtual Forum on Wednesday, October 16th, from 4:00 to 6:15 p.m., accessible via Zoom Webinar. ASMSU President Connor Le will provide opening remarks, with ASMSU Vice President for Governmental Affairs, Lily Wenkel, and Faculty At-Large Senator, Justin St. Charles, serving as moderators for the event.
This forum offers MSU students, faculty, and staff a valuable opportunity to engage with the candidates directly, including the chance to pose questions. During the 60-minute session, candidates will first respond to a series of thematic questions shaped by input from the MSU community. This will be followed by a live Q&A, allowing attendees to ask questions and gain further insights into each candidate’s perspectives and vision.
The forum will consist of two 1-hour sessions, each featuring two candidates. Attendees may choose to attend one or both sessions, but registration is required. Please see the registration details below:

Get moving this October and join the 9th Annual Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) Healthy Homecoming Walk on Tuesday, October 15th at Demonstration Hall Field from 8AM-2PM (Rain Location: IM East Indoor track). The event is free and open to the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
The walk is a friendly competition with other EIM-OC universities in the U.S. and aims to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health on college campuses. If Spartans cannot attend in-person, they are still able to log their miles virtually.

Composition Area faculty have started hosting weekly Electronic Music Happy Hour events on Thursdays in the Electronic Music Studios. These informal events are open to all Music majors and aim to demonstrate new methods of making music with synthesizers, computers, and lots of other cool stuff.
All Electronic Music Happy Hours are held on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. in MPB 319.
