Fairchild Theatre on MSU’s campus is the place to be on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. as the College of Music’s beloved chamber music series, the Joanne and Bill Church West Circle Series, opens its 2025–26 season with Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

Led by violinist and MSU Professor Dmitri Berlinsky with the International Chamber Soloists, Vivaldi’s timeless masterpiece is brought to life. This evocative set of concertos that captures the sounds and sensations of each changing season arrives at the perfect moment, as Michigan’s own autumn colors reach their peak, offering audiences a vibrant connection between nature and music.

Renowned violinist Dmitri Berlinsky, professor at the MSU College of Music, brings his award-winning artistry to stages worldwide, from Carnegie Hall to the Berlin Philharmonic Hall.

Considered a cornerstone of Baroque repertoire, The Four Seasons remains one of the most recognizable and expressive works ever written, highlighting technical brilliance, lyrical beauty, and seasonal imagery that continues to inspire across generations.

The Four Seasons is one of those rare works that never loses its luster, always connecting audiences with music and nature’s beauty,” said Berlinsky, MSU professor of violin and director of the International Chamber Soloists. “Each movement feels fresh and alive, making a beautiful form of musical expression for our ensemble to share with concertgoers.”

Formed by Berlinsky, the International Chamber Soloists—a distinguished group of young string players from around the world—is a dynamic ensemble of advanced students from the MSU College of Music.

The program also includes Astor Piazzolla’s Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) for solo piano, performed by MSU pianist Derek Polischuk, offering a modern, Latin American reflection on the same theme of seasonal change.

West Circle Series, led by Professor Deborah Moriarty, also includes these concerts at Fairchild Theatre:

The Four Seasons concert is generously sponsored by Trustee Emerita Dee Cook in memory of her husband Byron Cook, Barbara and Bill Given, Dr. Roy and Christine Meland, Gordon E. Miracle, and Dr. Robert W. Uphaus and Dr. Lois M. Rosen. The entire West Circle Series is underwritten by Joanne and Bill Church.

Tickets: Reserved seating is $19 for adults, $17 for seniors (age 60+), and $9 for students and those under 18 with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at music.msu.edu/events, by calling (517) 353-5340, or at the door.
