Faculty Brass Quintet Performance and Masterclass

MSU Community Music School – Detroit
The Faculty Brass Quintet Performance and Masterclass invites high school brass musicians to experience, learn, and connect with the MSU College of Music. Spend the afternoon with our faculty brass quintet through a live performance, interactive Q&A, and a masterclass designed to support your musical growth. Whether you are refining your skills or exploring college options, this is a chance to listen, play, and engage directly with MSU faculty.
This event is free; please register by September 26 to attend.
Participating faculty include Justin Emerich, trumpet; Heather Zweifel, trumpet; Johanna Yarbrough, horn; Kenneth Thompkins, trombone; and Chance Huiet, tuba/euphonium.
- 12:00–12:40 p.m. – MSU Faculty Brass Quintet Performance
- 12:40–1:00 p.m. – Q&A with MSU Brass Faculty
- 1:00–2:00 p.m. – Masterclass

Parking Instructions
- Take a ticket upon entering the SOMA garage. During events, press the “MSU” button.
- Walk down Erskine toward Woodward Ave. and turn right. The main entrance is at 3408 Woodward Ave.
- At check-in, give your ticket to security for validation and sign in.
- After the event, return to the security desk to sign out.
- To exit the garage, scan the front of your ticket, then scan the validation sticker on the back.
- If needed, use the “Help” button at the exit for assistance.
